The course and the official SAFE test are separate steps. Here’s what to know.

Official NMLS test information
Am I purchasing the SAFE exam?

No. These are prelicensing education courses. Register and pay for the official SAFE MLO test separately through NMLS. Education enrollment does not book your exam or include the testing fee.

Why could I need more than 20 hours?

Some states require state-specific law education or a higher total. Our plan starts with a general 20-hour national course and adds the required state coursework and any additional general hours. We show the state's minimum separately from the course bundle.

Do I need an additional state exam?

State-specific education is coursework, not another state SAFE exam. Check other licensing conditions with your regulator; completing education and passing the national test are only parts of the licensing process.

Can I enroll today?

Enrollment is not open yet. You can explore requirements and build a plan now. Approved course details, pricing, instructors, and cohort schedules will be published before payment becomes available.

Can I use education I’ve already completed?

Select the state-only pathway to explore additional requirements. Confirm your education record, eligibility, and any education-expiration rules with NMLS and your regulator before purchasing.
